Nursing tops that can make you look (and feel) fabulous

There are a lot of DO's and DON'Ts during pregnancy (DON'T eat Sushi, DO Drink plenty of water, DON'T (avoid) drink alcohol, DO get plenty of rest, you know what I am talking about).

Well, then you give birth and FINALLY you are able to do (almost) everything again. BUT (and there is a big BUT) you are not completely set free, there is a little someone who every once in a while (2 hours at best) requests you strip down and feed him. Exposing your tummy or boobs is not exactly your favorite part of the routine.

Maternity nursing tops – how can they help?

–       Find a flattering breastfeeding top that has the easiest opening access – I find that the best nursing tops are the ones that open beneath the breast-line as most breastfeeding bras open from top to bottom and work best with this opening.

–       Winter or summer, I am always in favor of a good nursing tank top. It can be dressed up or dressed down, wear them in hot weather or layer in winter. Post-pregnancy, especially the first few weeks, are in the baby's warm environment (not to mention the hormones, oh dear, the hormones… I am sweating just from thinking about it).

–       I always say that being pregnant / a breastfeeding mother is a temporary state (no matter how long you wish to nurse your baby). Buy clothes that can serve you well and be a good return of investment: maternity nursing tops can be worn all through pregnancy and while nursing (and until you get your body back!).

–       There are fashionable nursing tops out there that will make you look (and feel) fabulous! Start with one or two and see if this is something that simplifies your routine (EXACTLY what you need right now)..

–       You can always add nice accessories to your look, like designer diaper bags, designed strollers, unique baby bags and more.

No more DO's and DON'Ts: right now, anything that makes you feel good is probably definitely a DO.. so head on and google best nursing tops / nursing tank tops or maternity nursing tops – there are plenty to choose from!

♥Happy shopping!♥

4 Key tips to dressing while pregnant – you can be a hip mama!

Image Transcript:

You're thrilled about finally being pregnant, but you're less than excited about the idea of leaving your hip clothes behind in favor of sweats and tent dresses.
With a few simple wardrobe twists, you can be a hip mana!

Here are a few tips on how to dress your bump and how to conceal your less favorite post partum areas:

Tip #1: Stick with the same things you usually wear.

if you wear a lot of black and that makes you fell confident and comfortable, then don't start wearing pink just because your pregnant!
if you prefer colors, choose a favorite neutral color for your bottoms and build your wardrobe around them.

Tip #2: Form-fitting is flattering – especially with a cute maternity tops !

Today's moms-to-be are showing their bellies and breasts in cloths that are miles away from the large, lose maternity wardrobe our mothers used to wear.
And for a good reason: Form-fitting is much more flattering then really loose-fitting.

If you just gave birth and you don't fell as comfortable with your tummy, the trick is to look for slightly looser styles which come in just under the bust, allowing the fabric to float over your tummy and match them with a pair for slightly more fitting-tailored bottoms.

Tip #3: Look for Stretch Fabrics – Works Well with Maternity Dresses for Special Occasions

As you purchase the basics, look for stretch fabrics.
Dresses and other clothing in stretch fabrics will last through the entire pregnancy, since they do have the ability to stretch.

This will keep you from having to purchase new clothing every couple of months while you are pregnant.

all of our garments are made to fit you from early pregnancy and throughout nursing!

Tip #4: Layers are important for all types of maternity and nursing clothes

Your metabolic rate increases by about 20 percent when your pregnant, which means that if everyone else is shivering you're just likely to be complaining about the heat.
Being in your baby's environment means the temperatures are relatively high(er).
With layered look, you can peek clothes off as needed.
On cold days, wear a T-shirt under a long cardigan.

Don't get carried away, though – too many layers or layers that are too loose and can look sloppy instead of sophisticated.

11 Things You Didn’t Know About Breastfeeding (thebump.com)

Did you know breast milk is sold on the Internet for approximately 262 times the price of oil? That’s just one of the (surprising!) facts we discovered.

1. Who needs the gym? The metabolic energy needed to breastfeed a baby each day is the amount you’d use to walk seven miles.

2. It’s not always easy to learn, but it _is _instinctual. Newborns held skin-to-skin in the first hour or two after birth may push their way toward mom’s breast and start feeding on their own.

3. Liquid gold. Human milk is sold on the Internet for $4 per ounce. That’s about 262 times the price of oil.

4. You’re probably a righty. Almost three-quarters of moms produce more milk with their right breast (and it has nothing to do with being right-handed).

5. Distinctive scent. Breastfed babies can practically pick their moms out of a lineup based on smell alone.

6. Know your nipple. Breast milk sprays out of many holes, not just one. The exact number varies from mom to mom.

7. Bigger isn’t necessarily better. The amount of breast milk a mom produces has nothing to do with her breast size.

8. Implants don’t impact. Most women with breast implants are still able to breastfeed.

9. A “breastfeeding high.” Nursing baby triggers the release of the hormone oxytocin, which relaxes you and baby both.

10. The ’60s sucked for nursing. US breastfeeding rates were lowest in the late 1960s and early 1970s, when only 20 to 25 percent of mothers breastfed.

11. Hang in there! In 2011, 74.6 percent of US babies were breastfed (ever), but by six months, only 14.8 percent were exclusively breastfed.

Still feeling GREEN… – Week 15

I am at the stage where I look like I had a really big lunch, and not like I am pregnant. Maybe my green complexion might give away the fact that food is not my friend right now.

Nausea for most of the day (why is this called "morning sickness"??) is something I forget pretty fast once I reach the second half of my pregnancy but is a really big thrill kill for the first 4.5 months – that's about 130 days!!

Here are two simple miracles that help me when all else fails:

* Cold Sparkling Water – works wonders and keeps you hydrated

* Popsicles – Especially in summer when you need something sweet, but don't want anything with a smell

Hang in there, my fellow big lunchers!
